Pelican Nebula IC 5070 Real Color


Details

IC 5070 the Pelican Nebula in the constellation of Cygnus, is located just next to the North America Nebula NGC 7000. In fact this is one large HII emission nebula, that is just divided by a large dense cloud of interstellar dust. The color palette follows the real color of the filters, hence SII is red, Ha is red/orange and OIII is cyan.

First Light of the Takahashi FSQ EDX. The SBIG camera returned after a repair and meanwhile i used a friends QSI Camera. The color palette follows the real colors of the filters. SII is red, Ha orange/red and OIII cyan. The image was published in Sky and Telescope Magazin.
