NGC 7000


Details

NGC7000 and IC5070, North America and Pelican Nebula. This famous object of the nothern Milkyway is located in the constellation of Cygnus. Both nebulae are a part of a large cloud of hydrogen gas called Sh2-117. The dark nebula that is deviding both from each other is catalouged as L935. NGC7000 was first observed by William Herschel, but german astronomer Max Wolf named it North America Nebula in 1890.
