Antares Final Large

Antares

Details

The Antares region is one of the most beautiful nrbula regions of our milkyway. In winter months Scorpius and Ophiuchus are high in the sky. So I took the chance to image this spectacular region many times, during my stays at Kiripotib guestfarm in Namibia. You can see brown dark nebula and bluish reflection nebula as well as the yellow reflection of Antares, the bright star in the center of the image. Some globular clusters are in the the same plane of view, like M4 and the much smaller NGC6144.
